HEARING Dogs for Deaf People is holding a volunteer recruitment fair on for people interested in helping to train of look after the special assistance dogs.
The event will be held at the charity's Beatrice Wright Training Centre in Beilby, near Pocklington, on Saturday, July 22.
It follows a successful event in March, which saw almost 200 prospective volunteers go along to find out how they could get involved.
More volunteers are urgently needed to help with puppy socialising, bed and breakfast for dogs, training from home, and on-site volunteering.
Organiser Hayley Simpson, a dog trainer with the charity, said: "I am delighted by the support that the local community is giving these events. Volunteers are the lifeline of the charity. We simply couldn’t transform the lives of so many deaf people without them."
