I AM pleased that The Press has picked up on my call for additional flood defence works in Fulford.
The 2015 floods once again led to the Fordlands Road community being cut off. We have to get the right organisations together to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
I want there to be consultation with the community on better protection for the Fordlands Road area, as well as completion of the A19/Main Street flood defence works.
I have now submitted my petition to City of York Council and the Environment Agency, and I look forward to hearing about how it will be taken forward.
Residents are very welcome to contact me about flood defences in Fulford or the Germany Beck development, and I will continue to make representations to Persimmon Homes and the council when concerns are raised.
