CITY of York Athletic Club’s Josh Dickinson continued his impressive year with victory at the Virgin London Mini Marathon.

Representing Yorkshire and Humberside, Dickinson won the U15 boys’ title in the event that is held on the final three miles of the official London marathon course.

Taking command of the race, he clocked 14 mins 47 seconds to win by almost 100 metres from Charlie Brisley (South East).

With the event doubling up as the British Athletics Road Championship, it was Dickinson’s second national title of the year having already secured the Inter-Counties Cross Country crown in March.

City of York had four other runners taking part in the Mini Marathon - Angus McMillan (14.43) and Georgia Rothwell (17.27) coming 13th and 22nd respectively in the U17 boys’ and girls’ races.

Martha Carlton-Seal (18.04) and Finnian Hutchinson (15.53) finished 33rd and 36th in the U15 girls’ and boys’ races.

In the London Marathon, Stephen Kirk was COYAC's first runner home in a superb time of 2 hours 40 minutes 26 seconds. Mark Fitzpatrick also broke the three-hour mark with 2.49.48. Nick Elliott ran a personal best 3.09.39 and James Richardson clocked 4.10.10.

Karen Williams was the first female runner from the club home in 3.37.02 with Miyako Shimoji close behind in 3.40.35. Cath Flatley ran 4.25.22, Charlotte Hancock 4.35.38 and Sally Rawlins 4.47.52.
