HAVING just received a reminder letter on Saturday from Specsavers telling me that I need to get my eyes tested, I decided to look online to try to book an appointment.
You may imagine my surprise to find that there were three appointments available on the next day (Sunday) afternoon and also appointments available all day Monday.
Tests usually last 30 minutes then further time to select glasses.
Contrast this with an attempt to get an appointment to see a GP, usually taking two to three weeks and lasting 10 minutes. No service at weekends.
I know that this is not a direct comparison, but Specsavers do seem to be getting it right.
Could they be asked to pass on their expertise to GPs?
