A RIVER walk and picnic will take place next month to celebrate the next phase of a charity flood prevention project.
The St Nicks charity, Lord Mayor of York and Civic Party will host the walk on Friday, May 5, in aid of the York Becks Project, which aims to reduce flooding by improving green spaces along the Foss-feeding streams. The planned work is making them better habitats for wildlife.
Starting at 10.45am, the guided walk will take people along the path of the December 2015 floods from the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall to St Nicks Nature Reserve.
