TRAFFIC cops in North Yorkshire arrested a man suspected of driving a car after allegedly taking cocaine.

The Roads Policing Group officers were on patrol on the A64 Seamer bypass in Scarborough at 9.50pm on Sunday when they pulled over the blue Audi A3 near the Edgehill junction.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Norton, near Malton, failed a roadside drugs test which showed a positive reading for cocaine.

Following questioning in custody, the man was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
