A FEMALE prisoner who walked out of an open prison near York, has been recaptured by police.
Donna Willis, 36, was serving a five year prison sentence at HMP Askham Grange for GBH, but absconded on Wednesday, April 19.
North Yorkshire Police appealed to the public to help find her on Friday, April 21, and said officers believed Willis may have travelled north to the Northumbria area.
Northumbria Police today confirmed Willis had been arrested by the force, and remains in police custody.
