A YEARLY programme of work to maintain and protect roads in North Yorkshire is under way.
North Yorkshire County Council will be working across the region until October to repair troublesome areas across 9km of the county’s roads.
Surface dressing is a quick, efficient and cost-effective way of maintaining roads. It involves spraying bitumen on to the road surface then covering it with a layer of chippings. The process can extend the life of a road by up to 10 years.
