BUSINESSES in the food sector are being invited to a series of workshops and masterclasses alongside an opportunity to access to £5,000 for research and development.
The workshops, which cover topics such as food branding, crowdfunding, food safety, packaging, hygiene and marketing are being organised by the SIAFS project (Stimulating Innovation in the Agri-Food Sector)
The SIAFS project combines Science City York’s (part of Make It York) business expertise with Fera’s research and facilities, and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
As well as the workshops businesses can apply for a voucher to the value of £5,000 to use at Fera Science for lab work such as food testing, authenticity and pest control.
The first of the workshops is being held on May 10 when from 10am to 1pm a session called Developing Your Food Brand will look at the importance of branding to any business, and help business owners to develop their own brand story and design branding products and use online tools
Lunch will be provided from 1pm, followed by a second session from 2pm to 5pm called Business Vision and Strategy Masterclass. To find out more visit www.agrifoodinnov.com.
