SEVERAL motorists were arrested for drink driving on North Yorkshire’s roads over the Easter weekend.
Police tweeted that one of them, stopped on the A19 near Selby, had only had his licence back for a year since his last ban for drink driving.
One car was stopped on A1M near Boroughbridge, and the driver, who smelled of alcohol, provided a positive breath specimen.
Another vehicle was stopped on the same road at Catterick and the driver blew at more than twice the legal limit.
Officers tweeted that two people were also in custody after their vehicle, stopped on the A19 at Knayton, near Thirsk,had been reported stolen only a few hours earlier.
They said the driver was over the limit and the passenger allegedly had drugs.
