A VIDEO tracing a man’s last known movements in York before he disappeared without trace has been made by his family and posted online.

The family of Rory Johnson-Hatfield hopes the reconstruction, filmed at a series of locations across the city centre which were visited by Rory during a night out on November 20 -21 in 2015, will jog someone’s memory and solve the mystery of what happened to him.

The 29-year-old, from Skipton, was last seen on CCTV in the early hours around Tower Street, Skeldergate Bridge and City Mills, after spending a night out in the city centre.

York Press:

North Yorkshire Police said last year the force had conducted a full and extensive investigation into Rory’s disappearance, which led it to conclude he entered the water around the City Mills area.

The video, filmed by Jonathan Malory, from Skyfilming in York, features Rory’s mother Liz Johnson, and friends Jacqui Rhodes and Sam Biddolph, who narrates the film, which she says is intended to jog people’s memories and help find Rory,

The film starts at York Railway Station, where Rory arrived in the city at 7.20pm, then moves to George Hudson Street, where Rory took photo’s of his father’s former restaurant called Sam Houston .

It then traces his footsteps to the Travelodge in Piccadilly, where he was staying, and then to Parliament Street, where he went with a friend for a drink in Thor Tipi bar, Revolution bar in Coney Street and back to Wetherspoons next to the Travelodge, where Rory went with his friend and had food and a pint of beer before chatting to two Scottish men he met at the bar.

Rory was seen leaving Wetherspoons with the men to go to the hotel, at about ten past 12, and they spent 20 minutes there before, at 00.27, Rory was seen leaving with the younger of the two men and they crossed over Castle Mills Bridge.

Sam said the man said they went to a small olde world pub where Rory ordered drinks but she said the timescale suggested seem ‘quite tight.’

“Rory is then seen running towards the City Mills accommodation.” She said a woman at the riverside City Mills accommodation saw him running towards her at about 12.30 and was concerned someone might be chasing him but noticed no one was behind him. “Did anybody see Rory running at this time? If so, please get in touch.”

She said Rory was last seen on CCTV on a balcony at City Mills at 00.45. He was texting two girls through the evening and appealed for them to get in touch.
