VISITORS and residents with a sweet tooth are getting ready to indulge at a variety of Easter events.

York's annual chocolate festival returns with events across the city and a specialist Chocolate Market on St Sampson’s Square.

The Festival runs for four days starting on Good Friday and finishing on Monday, April 17.

It includes workshops and demonstrations in a specialist cookery theatre, alongside the market on St Sampson’s Square.

There are linked events in the Castle Museum, York Chocolate Story, Goddard’s - the home of the Terry family - and at York Cocoa House.

Children will be entertained by chocolate lolly making workshops, and the city's Easter Festival with a petting zoo and Little Viking’s activity tent.

Families can also follow a new Chocolate Easter Trail, to support the Lord Mayor’s charities, with chocolate eggs specially made by the Lord Mayor Cllr Dave Taylor.

The trail takes families around landmarks like Bettys as they solve puzzles along the way/.

A trail card and map is £3 at the Visit York Information Centre.
