THE fundraising drive is under way for the Lord Mayor's Charity Golf Day.

The event in aid of Lord Mayor of York Cllr Dave Taylor's charities will be staged at Pike Hills Golf Club on Friday, April 28, with Vantage York Toyota as chief sponsors.

Cllr Taylor visited Vantage at Clifton Moor to look over the new Toyota C-HR, which the firm are offering for a weekend as a prize for the nearest the pin on the 15th hole.

Vantage's Ian Marchant said: “We are delighted to not only supply the C-HR but also sponsor the whole day event supporting the Lord Mayor of York’s charities."

Now in its 10th year, the competition attracts a field of around 200 golfers.

There are still a few tee times available at £25 per person (£100 a team of four), which includes coffee and bacon sandwich before the round of golf.

The Lord Mayor expressed his delight at the generous support, not only from Vantage York but also from numerous local businesses that have sponsored all 18 holes and donated raffle prizes.
