A MAN was arrested after the car he was driving collided with the back of a tractor on the A64.
It happened near Copmanthorpe on the westbound carriageway at about 9.40pm yesterday.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "The male driver was arrested and then released pending blood toxicology results but remained in hospital for treatment for hand injuries only. The tractor driver was uninjured."
The carriageway was closed so it could be cleared and vehicles recovered, but it reopened shortly after 1am.
