PART of Scarcroft Green will NOT be fenced off to create a children’s play area. Instead, council bosses say £1 million will be allocated for a full-sized games and play area on the site of Millthorpe School, for use by schools belonging to the South Bank Multi Academy Trust.
It is not what Scarcroft Primary School wanted. But in our view, the council has acted sensibly.
Scarcroft Green is an open space that has been available for members of the public to use for generations.
It must not be fenced off, even in part - no matter what the reason.
