THIS was the scene in York as waters rose following heavy rainfall.
While riverside paths were flooded in the city centre yesterday, waters have peaked in the Queen’s Staith and St George’s Field area and are expected to further recede with a few days of better weather.
Sunshine is forecast for today, with highs of 13 degrees celcius, and Sunday is forecast to be dry but overcast.
However, a flood warning remains in place at Naburn in response to heavy rainfall further upstream this week.
An alert is also in place for the Upper River Ouse. While levels are dropping, riverside footpaths may continue to be affected by flooding on Friday.
