CREATIVE youngsters in York developed their artistic skills after working with a professional artist as a prize for winning a competition.
Artist Griselda Goldsbrough visited the children who are part of the Danesgate Community and were among the winners of an art competition run by York Art Gallery for schools across York.
The class was chosen as one of the winners after creating different interpretations of York Minster and the Shambles.
During the session with Griselda at Fulford School's old caretaker's building, the pupils began producing their own interpretation of the Five Sisters window at the Minster.
Their teacher Dominic Horsley said: "It was brilliant. The children really enjoyed it. The artist enjoyed working with them. I haven't seen the children so focused for so long."
The mission of the Danesgate Community is to provide children and young people who live in York with high quality education even when they have struggled to succeed in a mainstream school.
