THE next dementia friendly cinema showing at York’s City Screen will be on Monday.

Dementia Friendly screenings enable people with dementia and their carers to attend the cinema in a safe and comfortable environment.

Dad’s Army will be shown at 1.15pm.

The screening is open to everyone, but enhanced to suit the needs of people with dementia; low lights are left on during the screening, the volume of the soundtrack is reduced, and it is fine for members of the audience to express themselves. Tickets are reduced to £4 per person and accompanying carers go free. Complimentary tea, filter coffee and biscuits will be available before the screening from 12.45pm.
