ST LEONARD'S Hospice in York is inviting people to walk the city's historic streets after hours and raise vital funds for the charity.

The popular, annual Midnight Walk will take place on June 10 and the theme is ‘Ready, Set, Glow.’

Starting from York College, the walk takes in a 6.5-mile circular route across the Knavesmire, along the River Ouse and then on to the sights and sounds of York City Centre, and back again where a bacon sandwich and a cuppa will be waiting at the end.

A team of marshals will be on hand along the way to ensure everyone is safe.

Katie Jackson, fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: "This year the Midnight Walk is open to all - men, women and children, so get your team together and paint the town neon.

"People are encouraged to glow for St Leonard's on the night, whether that is with a single glow stick or head-to-toe neon.”

The early bird discounted entry price is £15 for adults and £10 for children, available until 9am on April 3, after which prices will rise to £17 and £12 respectively. Tickets available at the Hospice website: www.stleonardshospice.org.uk
