NORTH Yorkshire firefighters were called to help rescue an elderly resident stuck on a stairlift at a house a village.
Just before 2pm yesterday, Thirsk firefighters were called to a house in Carlton Miniott, between Thirsk and the A1, to help an elderly man.
He had got stuck on a stairlift.
The crew released him using hand tools and manpower.
It was the second time in three hours that North Yorkshire firefighters had rescued trapped people.
At 10am, they answered a call to free two people stuck in a lift in Glusburn, in the south-west of the county.
