FIREFIGHTERS tackled two fires containing propane gas cylinders in North Yorkshire, which are believed to have been caused deliberately.
Crews were called just after 7.30pm on Monday to two piles of rubbish on fire in Mayfield Road, Whitby.
One of the fires contained eight small propane gas cylinders which all exploded. The second fire involved a 15kg propane gas cylinder. A fire spokesperson said: “Fortunately this larger cylinder did not explode. The cause is believed to be deliberate.”
