MOTORISTS are warned that a funeral procession is likely to cause traffic disruption in York today.
City of York Council says there is likely to be heavy traffic between James Street and Fulford Road, primarily between the hours of 1pm and 3.30pm. The funeral procession will travel along this route.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Heavy traffic levels leading to increased journey times are likely to occur in the St Oswalds Church area on Fulford Road during the funeral and when the procession moves on to Fulford Cemetery off Fordlands Road.
"Traffic light timings will be amended to minimise disruption where possible."
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if possible and allow more time for their journeys in the area.
