A SENIOR airman with strong links to Elvington-based Allied Air Forces Memorial has become Lieutenant Governor of Jersey.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, who is honorary president of the Allied Air Forces Memorial, has been announced as the new Lieutenant Governor. Sir Stephen has been a longstanding supporter of the memorial and Yorkshire Air Museum during his long career with the Royal Air Force, and became an honorary vice president of the Allied Air Forces Memorial in 2010.
He attended our significant annual Allied Air Forces Memorial Day that year, marking the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, has regularly attended this and other events since then, and accepted the role as President in 2013. Ian Reed, Director of the memorial and the museum, said: “We offer our warmest congratulations to Sir Stephen on his appointment.” by HM The Queen as Lieutenant Governor of Jersey.
