A WEEK-LONG cruise for two people is up for grabs in a silent auction which will raise vital funds for St Leonard's Hospice in York.

The top prize has been given to the hospice by a generous donor.

The cruise on the P&O Azura departs from Southampton on Easter Sunday, April 16.

It will depart from Southampton and call in at La Rochelle in France, Bilbao and La Coruna in Spain and then onto the island of Guernsey before arriving back at Southampton on April 23.

Dawn Clements, director of fundraising at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to go on a fantastic cruise and support the hospice at the same time."

The price includes full board but not drinks or excursions. Any additions and excursions can be booked through Thomson Holidays on Monks Cross, and passenger details will be changed with no additional administration fees.

The winning couple will also need to arrange their own transport to and from Southampton and their own travel insurance.

The value of the cruise is £1,500 and the hospice is asking for bids more than £750. All the money goes towards the running of St Leonard's Hospice.

People can email in their bids, and the person who sends in the winning bid will be informed on April 4. Payment will be taken by credit/debit card payable by the end of the day on April 5.

To enter your bid, email competition@stleonardshospice.nhs.uk with your bid total, name and the contact details that you will be available on between 1pm and 4pm on April 4.
