TWO people are facing a total court bill of £630 after spending a penny in public in York city centre.
City of York Council used a bylaw to prosecute Callum Watson, 24, of Chapelfields Road, and Ben Lilley, 23, of Howden Road, Hartlepool.
Watson was found guilty at York Magistrates Court of urinating in public against the window of The Regency restaurant in Rougier Street at just after midnight on December 17. He was fined £220 in his absence and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £30 court surcharge.
Lilley, who was convicted of urinating in public against wooden gates at the rear of PopWorld in Micklegate at 7.40pm on December 10, was fined £150 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £30 court surcharge.
Senior York councillor Sam Lisle said: "We will not tolerate this anti-social activity."
