FROM the makers of The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes a brand new tribute concert based on the friendship and music of Carole King and James Taylor on Thursday at the Grand Opera House, York.

Presented by Maple Tree Entertainment, You've Got A Friend is a "heart-warming story intertwined with the music that shaped a generation", featuring such hits as I Feel The Earth Move, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Fire & Rain, You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman, Sweet Baby James and the title song.

King and Taylor played their first show together at The Toubadour, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, in 1970. Their most notable collaboration came a year later when Taylor recorded King’s composition You’ve Got A Friend, going on to win the 1971 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and achieve his first American number one.

King and Taylor's musical partnership and friendship has continued to bloom. In 2010, they linked up for the Troubadour Reunion International Tour, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first performance together.

The tribute cast will be led by West End performer Kyla Brown as Carole King and Bill Lennon as James Taylor, backed by a company of actor-musicians that helps to narrate a show written by Dean Elliott, who played the lead role in Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story at the Duchess Theatre, London for two years, as well as on the show's tours of the United States, Canada and Europe.
