A NORTH Yorkshire woman has won an award for her work to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.
Chrissie Holmes, 62, from Starbeck, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 50 years ago.
Diabetes UK have presented her with the Alan Nabarro medal for her determination to set up support networks for other people with the condition in North Yorkshire.
Emily Honey, of Diabetes UK, said: “Chrissie’s hard work and dedication to supporting people with diabetes is inspiring.”
