TWO sheep, including a pregnant ewe, have been rescued from a river in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue's Selby boat crew were called to the River Aire near Chapel Haddlesey at about 9am today. They used lines and strops to pull the sheep to safety.
They are both "safe and well", a spokesperson for the fire service said.
They have been taken back to a local farm.
