PUPILS and teachers from a long-vanished York school will meet again at an Acomb club later this year.

Two men who used to attend Beckfield County Secondary Modern School in Beckfield Lane, Acomb, are organising a Grand Reunion in April. The school opened in 1948 and in the 1950s had between 500 and 600 pupils. Its former pupils and teachers are being urged to attend the Grand Reunion, talk about old times, and catch up with friends at Acomb Conservative Club on April 8. The event starts at 7pm and will include a buffet and disco at a cost of £10. More details from Terry Nicholson on 07850 952068.
