TICKETS for next winter's York Theatre Royal pantomime go on sale next week.

Jack and the Beanstalk will be Berwick Kaler’s 39th panto as the Theatre Royal’s dame, and will run between December 14 and February 3.

Berwick said: “Jack and the Beanstalk is one of my all-time favourite and this will be the sixth time I’ve done it in my 39 year reign but I’m sure this will be the ultimate.

"As always the panto’s success is down to support from its loyal audiences and I look forward to seeing some familiar faces in the queue.”

Tickets will be available in person only from 9am on Wednesday, but the De Grey Rooms will be open from 8pm on Tuesday for die-hards to keep warm while waiting.

At 8am on Wednesday, the queue will be moved outside the building, ready for the first sales at 9am, with Suzy Cooper, David Leonard and the York Theatre Royal team on hand and in costume to hand out tea and coffee.

Tickets start at £14.50. Online sales begin from 6pm on Wednesday, with phone bookings from 9pm next Thursday.
