A NEW occupant looks to have been lined up for a prominent building in York city centre.

A planning application has been submitted for the old Starbucks branch on the corner of Stonegate and Low Petergate.

Planning documents show that candle and cosmetics firm Jo Malone wants to move into the building. They require planning permission for proposed new signs.

York Press:

Jo Malone already have premises further along Stonegate.

Starbucks closed the branch in January, after 17 years. The building housed Hardcastle's jewellery shop for many years, and that firm's name is still on the base of the shop facade. In the 1990s it housed The Sweater Shop.
