A COUPLE who first met when they were children at the same school are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
Sam and Joyce Simpson, of The Nurseries, Easingwold, were married 60 years ago today at St John and All Saints’ Church in Easingwold.
The pair, who were both born and grew up in Easingwold, met when they were children at the former methodist school in the town at the age of 12.
To celebrate, they will be enjoying a meal with their family at Burn Hall in Huby on Saturday.
Joyce said: “We’re probably more in love now then when we first met. The key to a long and happy marriage is just working together.” The couple have three children and four grandchildren.
