AN INCIDENT in York that left two men with injuries to the head and face is not suspicious, police say.
A large section of Stonebow was cordoned off by police at about 5.30pm on Friday by North Yorkshire Police, who confirmed a 49-year-old man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with an injury to his head and a 28-year-old man was taken to York Hospital with injuries to his face.
A force spokeswoman said at the time officers had been called to reports of an assault on a man in Stonebow.
However, speaking to The Press on Tuesday, she said: “Following our enquiries there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and the investigation will be closed.”
