GATESHEAD will arrive at York City hoping to rack up a fourth straight victory for the first time since Bootham Crescent chief Gary Mills was their manager.

Eighth-placed Heed have taken nine points from a possible nine with home wins over Forest Green (3-1) and Southport (3-0) sandwiching a 2-1 triumph at Chester.

Neil Aspin is now hoping to emulate Mills, who racked up four, and then, five straight successes in April 2014 as he helped the north-east outfit secure a play-off spot.

Aspin will call on the services of two ex-Minstermen in Paddy McLaughlin and Jamal Fyfield, who have played prominent roles in Gateshead’s push for a top-five place this term

McLaughlin has played 34 times and scored four goals, while Fyfield has started 29 matches, operating on the left side of a back three.

Ex-City trialist Danny Johnson, meanwhile, is the visitors’ main goal threat, having hit the target four times in his last three games to move on to 14 for the season, placing him sixth in the National League’s goal charts.

Other former Bootham Crescent performers Ryan Bowman and Russell Penn are no longer on the books at the International Stadium.

Bowman bagged a brace during August’s 6-1 debacle for the Minstermen at Gateshead, but moved on to Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell the following month.

Ex-City skipper Penn played 15 games on loan for Aspin from Carlisle, before moving on to Wrexham .

Gateshead (probable): Montgomery, Bolton, Hogan, M Smith, Fyfield, E Smith, Mafuta, McLaughlin, York, Burrow, Johnson.
