THE five-year-old boy who was rescued by firefighters after his foot became stuck in a drain has paid a visit to their fire station.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service tweeted: "A young man very pleased to meet the crew on Selby station today! 🙂Following his rescue a few days ago after his leg became stuck in a drain."
The Press reported last week how crews were called to an address in Flaxley Road, Selby, after the boy's foot slipped into the drain and became wedged.
Firefighters had to prise up a number of paving slabs and broke the pipe to gain access to the boy's foot, then removed his shoe and he was able to pull his leg free.
The boy was checked by paramedics but did not require treatment.
