SACRED Paws and Spinning Coin will co-headline tonight's Please Please You bill at The Winning Post in Bishopthorpe Road, York.

In the Sacred Paws line-up are Rachel Aggs, formerly of Shopping and Trash Kit, on guitar and vocals and Eilidh Rodgers, once of Golden Grrrls, on drums and vocals. "Legendary Scottish indie label Rock Action released their debut EP two years ago and will do the same with their debut album in 2017," says Please Please You promoter Joe Coates.

"Rachel is one of the most distinctive guitarists in the UK right now, playing highlife and post-punk influenced runs that make you want to move your feet."

Joining Sacred Paws on this co-headline tour are Glaswegian indie-pop quartet Spinning Coin. "Super songwriter Sean Armstrong, previously of The Yawns, is secret weapon number one; the man is a melody genius," says Joe.

"They're already champions of their local DIY scene after a lot of gigs in their home city, where their drummer is also part of the Winning Sperm Party collective. The Pastels came knocking to release Spinning Coin's home-recorded single Albany on their Geographic label; Teenage Fanclub then followed suit, dragging them away on tour in 2016."

Tickets for tonight's 8pm gig are on sale at at £8 on the door.
