A MEMORIAL walk is to take place to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle Of Marston Moor.
Russell Marwood, military historian at the York Archaeological Trust, will guide the costumed walk around the largest battlefield of the English Civil War.
Beginning at the Battlefield Memorial, on the Tockwith to Long Marston Road, on Monday, at 2pm, it will span about two-and-a-half miles.
Mr Marwood said: "It depends on the weather, but the whole event is about two-and-a-half miles. We've done it about five times before.
"We've done these walks before and other people have asked us to do some more. There is a lot more scheduled over the summer months in different places."
The battle, which took place in 1644, changed the course of the English Civil War and helped to shape the country's history.
Monday's walk aims to provide information about the terrain, troop locations and famous last stands.
A commemorative march will also be held on Sunday, from the Boot And Shoe public house in Tockwith, at 2.30pm.
It has been organised by the Sealed Knot, the historical association that re-enacts battles and events from the English Civil War in costume.
