Demonstrators gathered at the US Embassy in central London, ahead of a protest and march to Downing Street, against US President Donald Trump's travel ban.
YORK Against Racism is holding a rally with campaigners Moazzam Begg and Nahella Ashraf.
The event at the Priory Street Centre on Wednesday starts at 7.30pm. Speakers will include York MP Rachael Maskell, Green party councillor Denise Craghill, anti-racist activist Nahella Ashraf and former Guantanamo Bay detainee and CAGE outreach director Moazzam Begg.
Organisers say they want to raise their voices against racism against a backdrop of rising racist attacks since the EU referendum, US president Donald Trump’s travel ban, and the rise of right-wing populist parties across Europe.
