MAIDSTONE United will arrive at York City without a win on the road since September.

The Kent club have not tasted victory in 11 away games and have taken just two National League points from a possible 27 on their travels during that time.

Jay Saunders’ men have also failed to net in seven of those 11 fixtures, while they haven’t managed a clean sheet in any of their last 21 league contests since a 2-0 triumph at fellow relegation-candidates North Ferriby.

The Stones last secured maximum away points by beating Torquay 3-2 which, bizarrely, racked up a third straight win on unfamiliar soil.

Last month’s return fixture against the Gulls, meanwhile, represents Maidstone’s one success from their last ten matches in all competitions.

Last season’s National League South play-off winners’ goals-against tally of 58 is the division’s second-highest tally behind Southport (66).

A record of 18 league defeats is also the biggest number in the National League, aside from that of North Ferriby (20)

All the statistics have contributed to Maidstone’s current position one place and one point adrift of a spot outside the relegation zone.

Former Cambridge winger Bobby-Joe Taylor is the club’s leading marksman on eight goals, but his last five efforts have all been penalties and he hasn’t netted in open play since August.

The 22-year-old attacker has also only scored once in his last eight outings.

With goals hard to come by, Joe Pigott has been drafted in on loan from Cambridge to beef up the attack and has featured in the last two matches, but he has only managed one goal in the Checkatrade Trophy during 19 appearances this term

Yemi Odubade, who has not played since New Year’s Day, might provide the team with an attacking boost, having returned to training this week after recovering from a foot problem.

The former Oxford and Gateshead winger has managed four goals in 17 league contests since signing from Eastleigh in August.

On-loan Woking forward Delano Sam-Yorke and midfielder Alex Flisher are also pushing for recalls to the first XI.

Maidstone (probable): Worgan, Twumasi, Coyle, Acheampong, Mills, Taylor, Flisher, Prestedge, Lewis, Sam-Yorke, Pigott.
