PETER Lawrence will visit Westminster today for the next reading of a Bill known as Claudia’s Law.

His daughter Claudia has been missing since March 2009, and Mr Lawrence has long campaigned to make it easier for families to deal with the financial affairs of missing relatives.

Legislation was agreed in 2015 but has not been passed into law. A bill was read and cleared its first Commons hurdle after MP Kevin Hollinrake raised the issue last month.

Mr Lawrence will be at the House of Commons for the second reading today - the next stage toward it becoming a law which could assist others with missing relatives in the UK.

As part of his campaign to raise awareness of Missing People, Mr Lawrence was part of a choir which performed in the audition stages of this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent.

A national newspaper quoted audience members and show insiders as saying the emotional performance of original song I Miss You had many in tears.
