A FARMERS’ market will be back in York this weekend, seven months after the previous incarnation was scrapped.
This Friday, February 3, will see St Sampson’s Square host a farmers’ market once again. It will be run by the Yorkshire Farmers’ Market Group, which already puts on regular markets in Otley, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Wetherby.
Freshly baked bread, salmon, venison, eggs, organic vegetables, cheeses, meat, honey, jam and cakes will all be on sale, alongside other traders like Yorkshire Blankets, and Jane Schaffer Ceramics.
Peter Heald, Director of Yorkshire Farmers’ Markets, said they were delighted to be bringing their markets to York.
The farmers’s market will be in St Samspon’s Square on the first Friday of every month, from 9am to 4pm. Full details at www.yorkshirefarmersmarkets.co.uk
