A GALA will be held on Friday to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The University of York is hosting its 2017 Lunar Year of the Rooster Chinese New Year Gala at York Barbican from 6pm.
Thirteen performances will run from 7pm to 9pm and features songs, folk dances, acrobatics, martial art and orchestra performances from over 100 students.
Organised by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), the Gala is one of the biggest student events and last year attracted 900 students.
The Lord Mayor of York Cllr Dave Taylor and the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire are also set to attend this year.
