THE X FACTOR is coming to York this weekend, and singing star hopefuls are being invited to a city bar to show off their talent.

The TV talent show that launched Little Mix, One Direction and Olly Murs is bringing its search for the next big thing to the city on Sunday, February 5.

Auditions will be held in 1331 bar on Grape Lane, from 11am to 5pm. There is no need to register for the mobile audition days, but the sessions work on a first come, first served basis so hopefuls are advised to turn up early to bag a slot.

If singers impress The X Factor team with their vocals, they will then be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the X Factor judges in the summer.

Aspiring singing stars who cannot make the York mobile audition date can also try mobile auditions at the Cornmill Shopping Centre, Darlington on Thursday, February 2; Hillstreet Shopping Centre, Middlesbrough on Saturday, February 4; Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster on Tuesday, February 7; or Sheffield City Hall on Saturday, February 11. More information about venues and dates can be found online at itv.com/xfactor. Larger open auditions will also be held in cities around the country, with dates to be announced shortly, and people can register online in advance or turn up on the day. Anyone who cannot make it to any of the audition sessions can send a video audition via the X Factor website at https://application.xfactor.tv/
