POLICE say a driver attempted to swap seats when his vehicle was stopped by officers, after they had seen it being driven 'horrendously' while they were travelling into York to go off shift.

The York and Selby Rural Task Force said the driver was arrested after giving a positive breath test and the vehicle was seized.

The vehicle was later confirmed as having been stolen, and the driver was charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, drink driving and having no insurance or a driving licence.
