A BARE-FOOTED motorist has been arrested for drink-driving by police in York - while an alleged drug driver has been caught for the second time in six weeks.

Officers tweeted that a vehicle was stopped last night in Clarence Street with assistamce from the Specials, and a breath test showed the bare-footed driver had been drinking.

Another motorist was arrested near York after their vehicle was stopped, cannabis was found inside and the driver underwent a positive drugwipe.

"That's twice in six weeks for this driver!" tweeted an officer. "The driver refuses to provide blood sample in custody and has been charged to court for this and possession of cannabis."

Meanwhile, officers have tweeted that a patrol car was slightly damaged when the driver of a stolen Mini van which was being pursued in the Craven area 'bailed out' while the vehicle was still moving. The driver was then chased through muddy fields before being caught.
