Students urged to avoid rivers after nights out
UNIVERSITIES in York have joined forces with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) to urge caution near rivers.
RLSS UK’s Don’t Drink and Drown campaign, which has the backing of York Rescue Boat and York’s bars, warns drinkers to act responsibly near water after they have been drinking.
York’s students and drinkers will be warned about the dangers of being near water when under the influence of alcohol with a Don’t Drink and Drown themed night out on Wednesday, when local bars and clubs will be displaying campaign posters and banners and beermats.
