A NORTH Yorkshire MP has met with the Flood Minister to discuss the problems local flood-hit businesses are having with insurance companies.
Nigel Adams, MP for Selby and Ainsty, has spoken with numerous business owners in Tadcaster, where 43 businesses and 36 homes were affected by the Boxing Day floods in 2015.
Some businesses have since reopened, and all have seen large increases in flood insurance premiums or have not been given a quote.
Mr Adams met with Flood Minister Dr Therese Coffey to discuss the problem faced by small businesses, where flood insurance premiums and excess had been increased.
