PROTESTS against the inauguration of Donald Trump will take place in York on Friday.
York Stand Up To Racism will meet between 4.30pm and 6pm on Friday in St Helen’s Square.
A spokeswoman said the organisation was “lending its voice to global protests at the inauguration of a President who has already done so much to stir up racial hatred”.
At least 100 people are expected to attend the protest, and a further rally will take place in the city on February 15.
Meanwhile, members of the group called York Global Justice Now plan to lower a banner reading 'Build Bridges Not Walls' from Ouse Bridge at noon on Friday.
They say they plan to send "a message of unity against the hatred and division that has spread across the world throughout the past year", as part of the UK-wide campaign, Bridges Not Walls.
