A CHARITY that helps domestic abuse victims in North Yorkshire has been recognised nationally.
The Independent Domestic Abuse Services (IDAS) was awarded the Women’s Aid National Quality Mark this month, which acknowledges it provides a high quality of service to women and children experiencing domestic violence in North Yorkshire.
IDAS were commended by the organisation for their thorough case work, empowering clients and the empathetic person-centred approach which the panel said was “inspiring”.
Polly Neate, chief executive of Women’s Aid Federation in England, said: “We are very proud to award IDAS the Women’s Aid National Quality Mark for their excellent work supporting women and children in Yorkshire. Specialist, high-quality domestic violence services can make the difference between a full, independent life and living in fear of your life for women escaping abuse.
"The hard work and dedication of the team at IDAS is making that difference, and I thank them for the very high quality of the service they provide.”
Sarah Hill, CEO of IDAS, said: “At IDAS we work tirelessly to keep victims and survivors of domestic abuse safe.
"This welcome award recognises the high standards that we hold ourselves to and the positive impact that we make to our clients’, their families, and communities. We are continually striving to reach out to more people and to make our services accessible to anyone who is affected by domestic abuse.”
