WITH reference to Peter Rickaby’s letter (The Press, January 9), my experience with the flu jab, which I first received 17 years ago when it was first introduced, will not make him feel any better at all.

Prior to receiving the jab I had a cold every Christmas that used to carry on in to the new year and then it often developed into a chest infection, which resulted me being on antibiotics.

Since that first flu jab I have had only two colds and when I informed my doctor he said that the flu jab had nothing to do with my miracle cure.

However, my experience just might encourage more people to try it.

My only worry is that each year the make up of the inoculation is changed to combat the latest possible epidemic.

I just hope they don’t change the bit that suits me.
